The brave new world of the internet and social media channels has also brought us a new dimension of classification mania. The magic word here is algorithms. Of course, the flood of posts can only be handled by machines. So we are classified.
The overriding logic is: “If you like something from the pigeonhole you’ve been assigned, you’ll like other things from that pigeonhole too.“
Unfortunately, this can be the end of development and learning. Only new and unexpected things can broaden our horizons.
