3#Musix Space: Spaceship Entprima
Entprima Community Premium Content - Department: #3Musix
This compilation covers an entire creative phase of the Entprima mastermind Horst Grabosch. It was the beginning of his late vocation as a producer of electronic music. The music was integrated into a space fantasy in which an Exodus spaceship was supposed to be searching for a new habitat for humans. The names of the record label and of Horst’s former favourite genre and the theme gave rise to the name of the artist’s identity: ‘Entprima Jazz Cosmonauts’. Horst had spent the last few years before his retirement working as an information technologist and was therefore very familiar with computers. Nevertheless, familiarising himself with music production took a lot of effort and time. Therefore there are only a few songs from this time, but within the story the seed was planted not only for the following identities ‘Captain Entprima’ and ‘Alexis Entprima’ but also for his later work as a writer. – Estimated watchtime: 45 min.

Spaceship Entprima
Introduction
25 years after my burnout as a professional musician and retraining as an information technologist, I couldn’t just start making music again as if nothing had happened. I could no longer play my main instrument, the trumpet, nor did I have any idea what I actually wanted to do.
During my time of depression and worklessness, I played around with the DAW ‘Garageband’ and later looked over the shoulder of my son, who had trained as an ‘executive music producer’. My last analogue CD production in 1995 was already a space fantasy and so I decided on this framework for my late comeback.
For the first attempts, I borrowed some vocal tracks from my son’s band ‘Entprima Live’, which were then woven into the story as dance music for the young spaceship passengers. The diner tracks were the first electronic productions without a concrete template.
As I was still working with my son as a label manager at the time, I also had access to all of his recordings. I found two of the songs very suitable for the fiction of a small concert in the dining room of the spaceship. I edited them and produced the video.
The music was released on 2 EPs at the time.
The Music
Diner & Ambient Tunes
I imagined that music would be needed on board on such a long journey through space. Intelligent machines would produce it in the dining room and in the corridors of the spaceship. In the dining room it would be a mutifunctional coffee machine called Alexis.
Spaceship Dancing
One member of the crew should have a musical education and be responsible for the music – Captain Entprima. The young travellers in particular need not only distraction but also physical exercise. All the dance tracks have many interludes where artistic dance interludes were particularly in demand.
Starkids Live at Dinner
The story of the spaceship Entprima tells that from time to time small concerts took place during dinner. The young people born on board were supposed to express their youthful emotions there. This is the little concert by “Jupiter”, who grew up speaking German as his mother tongue, because although English was the standard language on board, the preservation of cultural roots was supported by the starship’s administration.

Song 1: Your Time
You think,
Where is happiness for me?
It torments you inside.
The standstill slows you down,
it doesn’t let you be.
You feel
that opportunities are slipping away from you.
You can’t even see them,
you feel isolated
and are severely confused.
Take a step into your own time,
because it’s only ticking for you.
Get ready for your time,
you don’t know when it will come.
Stretch your head forwards,
keep your nose to the wind.
Improve your form
and decide who wins.
Fall,
into lethargy
and play your game.
Follow your instinct,
that beckons from afar.
The moment,
is never good enough
and it goes move by move.
Do not wall yourself in,
Crown yourself with pure wine.
Take a step into your time,
because it only ticks for you.
Get ready for your time,
you don’t know when it will come.
Stretch your head forwards,
keep your nose to the wind.
Improve your form
and decide who wins.
Song 2: Look at Me
Even the slightest emotion
every twitch, the slightest reaction
transports me to new heights.
The fleeting glance you give me,
the way you guide my behaviour,
you manage to touch me endlessly.
Don’t sleep or I’ll be alone.
I want to feel your closeness,
hold you, touch you lightly.
Look at me, rest your forehead against mine.
Linger for a short eternity,
I recharge my batteries and feel safe.
A slight twitch is enough for me
and if it’s not even a sound
I feel light as if I could fly.
The look you sometimes give me,
the way you catch me again and again
I know you don’t want to bend me.
